Policy

The Aboriginal Peoples’ Commission (APC) is actively involved in the Liberal Party’s policy development process.  The APC drives the development of the Party’s Aboriginal Platform and so reflects the direction of Aboriginal members, including First Nations, Métis and Inuit peoples.

The Commission is the main vehicle within the Party that voices concerns and develops policy on behalf of Aboriginal Peoples and members.

While the mandate of the Aboriginal organizations in Canada is to represent and advocate for their respective membership, the APC sets Aboriginal policy direction and works with its members in implementing the Aboriginal Platform of the Liberal Party.
